Roller pillow blocks are available in single, double, or twin versions and are ideally suited for a wide range of applications including contaminated environments. This video gives a quick explanation on how to adjust a roller pillow block from PBC Linear. First, gather the tools you will need. They include:
The demonstration begins with a 2” pillow block and identifying the location of the eccentric roller and the adjacent dowel pin insertion hole. Next, the allen wrench is placed into the eccentric bearing, while the plain wrench loosens the nut until there is adequate play in the bearing. Use the feeler gauge to test the gap. If it does not go through, open the gap slightly using the allen wrench and then firm up the nut, but do not tighten completely. Retest and repeat the slight opening of the gap until you reach .002”. Once the desired gap is achieved, hold the allen wrench firmly, and complete the tightening of the nut. Finally, add some lock tight to secure the nut.
